Job Title: Nurse Educator
Location: Hermiston, Oregon
Schedule: 8:00AM – 5:00PM x 5
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $73 – $78/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Nurse Educator for a temporary assignment in Hermiston, Oregon. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Nurse Educator:
• Report to the Clinical Education Department Manager and provide education and instruction focused on clinical staff
• Act as a resource to all staff regarding healthcare education and training programs
• Introduce technical and theoretical concepts in teaching techniques to staff and others as needed
• Support the development of education with department managers and clinical nurse coordinators
• Develop proficiency in simulation training using mannequins and simulation software
• Work closely with the Quality Management team to promote continuous improvement throughout the system
• Collaborate with department managers across the system to identify educational opportunities
• Assist with Quality Department activities as requested
• Perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure
• Accept responsibility for the direction, control, and planning of assigned activities
• Make evaluations and decisions based on measurable or certifiable criteria
• Work independently and complete assignments as scheduled, or communicate barriers to timely completion to manager
• Prioritize and re-prioritize job duties throughout the day as needed
• Evaluate programs and participant learning and make appropriate changes as needed
• Recognize the rights and responsibility of patient confidentiality and handle information appropriately
• Relate to others in a manner that creates a sense of teamwork and cooperation
• Communicate effectively in daily activities and convey empathy and compassion in conversation
• Maintain current Oregon RN license and required certifications including HCP CPR, CNOR, ACLS, and PALS
• Participate in required education for DNV programs as applicable to position
• Perform other related duties as assigned
