Job Title: Ambulatory Care
Location: Juneau, Alaska
Schedule: 8:00AM – 5:00PM x 5
Term: 19-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $64 – $69/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Ambulatory Care for a temporary assignment in Juneau, Alaska. These positions are 19-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Ambulatory Care:
• Must have active Alaska license at time of submittal
• Primary Care experience must be within the last 2 years
• Proof of flu vaccine required
• Function within the Outpatient Department to assist patients and medical staff within the ambulatory care setting
• Maintain skill sets, annual competencies, certifications, and participate in in-services and educational programs as assigned
• Complete all mandatory training and attend and participate in staff meetings
• Adhere to infection control policy and procedures
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment including adequate supplies and upkeep of unit and equipment
• Report any defective or missing equipment and safety hazards
• Provide clinical services, including working with providers, clinic staff, and management to ensure excellent quality of care and services
• Ensure efficient utilization of resources and compliance with established standards
• Provide leadership and direction to clinic staff ensuring efficient operation of all aspects of the clinic
• Maintain medication inventory and supplies not on the Warehouse PAR system
• Ensure necessary quality control checks are completed with Point of Care tests
• Clearly and correctly document all care and services provided, completing nurse duties professionally and in a timely manner
• Oversee the opening and closing of provider clinics
• Assist providers and other staff as needed, anticipating their needs to ensure efficient and quality patient care
• Communicate effectively with other departments to serve as an effective resource for patients, providers, and fellow clinic staff
• Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Apply nursing process knowledge in the working environment
• Utilize customer service principles in all patient interactions
• Apply safety and infection control principles
• Complete assessments, anticipate patient needs, and perform specimen collection
• Use equipment such as computers and medical equipment effectively
• Multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Function as a team player and be willing to teach when appropriate
• Problem-solve and use critical thinking skills to develop and maintain good working relations with other staff and departments
• Demonstrate willingness to ask for help when encountering new or challenging situations
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
