Schedule: 8:00AM – 5:00PM x 5
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $56 – $60/hr

Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a PT for a temporary assignment in Davenport, Washington. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.

Responsibilities for a PT:

• Plan and execute rehabilitation programs to help patients return to a higher level of physical function after an accident or surgery
• Help manage or lessen pain experienced by patients with degenerative conditions or terminal diseases
• Utilize a combination of physical activity, reflexology, massage, and muscular and skeletal manipulation in patient care
• Collaborate with speech therapists and other therapists to achieve the best outcomes for patients
• Work in a 90% outpatient and 10% inpatient setting
• Consult with patients to learn about their physical condition and symptoms and review medical history and referrals from providers
• Diagnose movement dysfunction by listening to patients and observing them as they move
• Develop individualized treatment plans for each patient
• Coach patients and teach therapeutic exercises and stretches to improve their condition
• Use hands-on therapy such as massage to ease patients’ pain and promote healing
• Keep detailed records relating to patient conditions, care plans, therapies, and progress
• Report progress and current status to appropriate parties, including family members, providers, and members of the patient care committee
• Maintain confidentiality in matters relating to patient, family, staff, and the work environment
• Interact with patients and families from a variety of developmental and sociocultural backgrounds
• Provide information to patients and families to reduce anxiety and convey acceptance, sensitivity, and caring
• Maintain professional relationships and convey relevant information to other members of the healthcare team and applicable referral agencies
• Initiate communication with peers and patient care providers about clinical priorities for care
• Relay information appropriately over telephone, pagers, and other communication devices
• Initiate communication with supervisor or director about security concerns relating to medical and healthcare workers
• Accept assignments based on priority, competencies, and unit needs
• Work closely with other care providers to complete tasks and provide clinical assistance as needed
• Report on patient conditions to physicians, nurses, and other staff as required
• Initiate problem-solving and conflict resolution skills to foster effective work relationships with peers
• Report to work on time and as scheduled
• Attend in-services, continuing education, and departmental staff meetings
• Contribute to annual reviews of peer performance as requested by unit or area leadership
• Respond to problems and opportunities to improve care and customer service
• Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain within 6 months of hire
• Maintain a current Physical Therapist state license
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
