Location: Rockford, Illinois
Schedule: 8:00AM – 5:00PM x 5
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $59 – $63/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a ED for a temporary assignment in Rockford, Illinois. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a ED:
• Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, standards of care, and State laws/practice act
• Document according to standards of care
• Develop, initiate, and execute a patient plan of care according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by Physician and/or clinic policy including patient and family instruction
• Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, including shared governance
• Utilize clinical expertise and provide guidance to other units/departments in support of the patient’s longitudinal plan of care
• Utilize critical thinking in regards to patient safety and patient experience and appropriately escalate to the appropriate chain of command
• Participate in the professional nursing continuum process
• Act as a resource to staff on patient education program/materials development and on patient education issues or problems
• Serve as a patient advocate who deals with clinical, psychosocial, and financial issues
• Provide diabetes education to patients and families living with diabetes mellitus in collaboration with the multidisciplinary diabetes management team
• Provide compassionate, culturally sensitive, holistic nursing care to patients in a clinical setting
• Float to various units based on identified needs and clinical competency
• Work variable shifts, weekends, holidays, and/or on-call hours as required
• Maintain current CPR certification and CDCES certification
• Maintain valid RN licensure in the states of IL and WI
